It’s OK, Bailey

Bailey has been whipped into a Hurricane Irene frenzy by our frantic local weather people. Charlotte tried to calm her nerves.

Diner Time

Grandma Helen and Grandpa Johnny helped Charlotte fulfill her dream of diner ownership.

Uncle Keith headed up the construction crew.

Yankee Pride

Grandpa Johnny sent the girls these Derek Jeter shirts. You’re not going to believe this, but the New York Yankees have never won a World Series in Katie’s lifetime. Here Charlotte explains to her sister the glorious ’09 title run.

Happy Belated Birthday!

On July 18, Charlotte turned 3! She’s come a long way since hitting the big 0-2 last year (at left).

Her fans gathered for cake and presents.

And we played a few mean games of Elefun. I don’t know if there are any practical applications of this skill, but my cousin Abby is an Elefun savant. She’s like Rickey Henderson when it comes to catching toy butterflies being shot out of a toy elephant’s trunk.
