Walking & Waving
Charlotte was cruising around the family room this afternoon with help from her walker. But even as she approached the all important walking milestone, she took time to salute her fans.

Charlotte has added verbal communication to her arsenal. No stopping her now.
(She’s also mastered “Hi,” “Mama,” “Dada” and “Hoiohhhhhh!” But since those sound more like speech therapy exercises than actual words, we’re counting this as her first.)
These new light-up bath toys are almost enough to keep Charlotte from making a splashy mess during bathtime.

Here’s Charlotte with her favorite chair.

Bailey won’t tolerate this kind of behavior from anyone else. (Keep reading for more…)

On Saturday, after filling up at IHOP, we brought Charlotte to the Turtleback Zoo in West Orange.

To Charlie, the paying customers were just as compelling as the otters and tigers and bears.

We’re now card-carrying members of the Wayne community pool. Charlotte wasn’t crazy about the water at first, but she came around.

Charlotte and Bailey, doing their thing.
In the non-edited versions, both of these clips ended with Charlotte stealing the camera and refusing to give it back. She picked that up from Russell Crowe.
After I pick her up from daycare, Charlotte and I have been walking over to an adjacent park where it’s not crowded and the grounds are well maintained. She likes to rip the grass out of the dirt and I like to be kept on my toes.
I realized today that, to the passing cars, we look absolutely insane. To them, there is no “we” – because Charlotte is rather tiny, what motorists see is a poorly dressed 29-year-old guy crawling around an abandoned softball outfield. It’s a wonder the office park security hasn’t swarmed on me.
Today it was a little too hot for the shade-free outfield, so we played under a tree across the street. This video is not remarkable in any way.
