Charlotte’s First Christmas (Part 1 of 2)

Thursday’s photos were just a taste of Charlie’s first Christmas. Click below for a complete recap.

If she grows up to be a TV chef, she can put this photo on her show’s website. If she grows up to be a non-celebrity chef, I’m sure she’ll still appreciate it.

Whatever she decides she wants to be, we’re assuming reading will be involved. Tonight I read her fourteen Robert Frost poems while she banged the book repeatedly with her shoe.

Bailey is terrified of real, live snowmen. (Well, not exactly “real” or “live.” I’d be terrified of them, too. But the made-with-real-snow ones really spook her.) Maybe this Christmas toy will help her overcome her fear.

All those presents were quite a shock.

Charlotte opened her stocking last, which was anticlimactic. We’ll play around with the order next year.

But the fun was just beginning!

Next up, Grandma Helen & Grandpa John’s house in Denville…

…where they were handing out fruit-themed hats.

Here she’s modeling her strawberry.

It was a big hit.

But an informal survey showed strong support for the cherry alternative.

Charlotte enjoyed playing with (and munching on) Great-Grandma English’s gift.

This book was tasty as well.

Aunt Karen taught Charlotte that books are more than delicious.

Karen, (Almost-Uncle) Keith and (Great) Nana wrapped up the unwrapping, and then we ushered Charlotte to her next stop. I’ve got the photos to prove it. She just woke up, though, so you’ll have to wait a couple hours.
