And Now She’s Baptized

All dressed up in front of her family and friends, Charlotte Lynn was baptized on Sunday.

Ten other babies also received the honor—including a set of triplets—but Charlie distinguished herself by not screaming for the entire service.

Ellen’s brother Mark performed Godfather duties admirably.

And we cast my sister Karen as Godmother.

And how about those mums? They were the product of Charlotte’s first visit to Wightman Farms. (Also known as the ‘apple farm,’ though we’ve never once been apple picking. We did buy some tasty honeycrisps, though. And a big jug of cider. And several donuts.) Here are a few family shots:

I don’t have any pictures from the church, but the flashbulbs were going off throughout the ceremony. So I’m sure we can shoehorn them in at a later date. This photo is from Ricci’s, where we held the post-game feast.

We filled the place up and clearly overwhelmed the staff, but the food was good.

Then dessert was served. There were a few photos of Ellen and me posing with the cake, but we’ve deemed those unsuitable for widespread internet publication. She looks like Vanna White, and I look like a confused guy leering at Vanna White.

Dogs were not allowed at either the church or the restaurant. Bailey is the kind of dog that holds a grudge.
