And Now She’s Baptized

All dressed up in front of her family and friends, Charlotte Lynn was baptized on Sunday.

Ten other babies also received the honor—including a set of triplets—but Charlie distinguished herself by not screaming for the entire service.

Your Candy ID IQ

Ethan Trex had a great idea for a mental_floss quiz last week, which was inspired by that Seinfeld episode where George challenged people to identify candy bars in a candy lineup full of Twix. He picked out the candy and I bought it, placed it on Ellen’s fine china and photographed each bar. I’ll admit that I ate the Milky Way and, the following day, the 3 Musketeers. The rest remains in my fridge. If you’re in the neighborhood and dying for a PayDay, stop on over.

Oh, and if you want to test your candy-identification skills, take the quiz.

A Quick Update

I’ve fallen behind on my photo updates. Stay tuned for pics from last week’s Coder nuptials, tomorrow’s big baptism, and various other photo-worthy moments from around the house. Here are a couple shots of Charlie, Bailey and my most comfy sweatpants.

While We Were At The Coder Wedding…

We were in Philadelphia yesterday to witness the wedding of Nick Coder and Emily Graham. Charlotte stayed behind to oversee a few small home improvement projects.

Once Charlie was pleased with the progress, she read Grandma Lynn a story.

Two Months Old

Charlotte was born two months ago today. (You can re-live those first few hours here.) Being truly mean parents, we celebrated by letting a nurse practitioner stick Charlie’s thighs with pointy, disease-filled needles. But she’ll thank us when she’s the only Livingston kid without diphtheria.

Let’s see what else she’s been up to…

Story Time

Charlotte’s been getting a jump on her early childhood education. Next month, we’ll move on to longer books. (Mainly this one.)

Good Charlotte

Charlie has been a pretty happy baby this week, except for the times she’s screaming like a horror movie victim. We took advantage of her good mood to take more photos (and get more sleep).

She got all dressed up for her neighborhood friend Drew’s baby naming. She slept right through it, though. Hope he doesn’t hold a grudge.

I Will Keep The Change, But You Can Count It

I’m going to cash in my bucket o’ change tomorrow. If you think you know how much is in there, head over to mentalfloss.com and venture a guess. Big prizes on the line. But not the change. That’s been earmarked for NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV. (Correction: diapers.)

I Am Ready For Some Football (’08 Edition)

Typing with a baby is hard work. But I wanted to make sure I got a few NFL picks on the record:

• Biggest Disappointment: Philadelphia Eagles

• Biggest Surprise: Buffalo Bills

• Final Four: New York Giants 28, Dallas Cowboys 27; Buffalo Bills 13, Pittsburgh Steelers 6

• Super Bowl: Giants 24, Bills 10; MVP: Justin Tuck

• Wishful Thinking Surprise Fantasy Stud: Chester Taylor, Minnesota

[Update (12:24am, Monday, 9-8-2008): In my Denville fantasy league, I had Tom Brady. Please send your condolences. The three-headed monster of Matt Cassel, Jon Kitna and Matt Ryan probably won't cut it. But even without Brady, I still should start both leagues 1-0. And that $25-to-win-$900 bet I made on the Bills to make the Super Bowl is looking slightly less crazy right now.]
